HANDMADE DOWN TO THE LAST DETAIL

Behind the scenes of a 3d rendering. Every single element in this environment is hand-made, carefully textured and lit.

In the age of artificial intelligence, the term "digital" is frequently associated with "machine-made," devoid of authenticity, or even soulless. After all, it's digital—how can it be considered handmade or unique?

However, creating high quality digital art goes far beyond mere button-pressing on a computer; it's a canvas where technology and art intersect - much like the engineering, design, and craftsmanship that go into building high quality automobiles.

The foundation for most of my illustrations is a virtual 3d model of a car.

These 3D models are meticulously crafted by highly skilled professionals who dedicate from dozens to hundreds of hours reproducing an accurate and faithful digital replica of its real-world counterpart. This applies equally to every car model I work with, be it a standard vehicle or a highly customized one.

Working from reference photos, highly skilled 3d artists spend countless hours creating a faithful digital representation of its real-life counterpart. This 3d model is expertly created by the team at Squir.

The same level of attention to detail extends to every element required in the setting in which the car will be placed.
This includes buildings, props, nature, and landscapes.

Each and every detail is meticulously modelled, textured, and prepared. Every facet of my illustrations is handmade, whether built, designed, or painted.

Just as a photographer manipulates light in a physical studio, I shape the lighting within 3D software using the same principles. Where a painter employs oil, watercolors, or acrylics on canvas, I wield the digital brush, retouching, and applying effects in software like Photoshop. In the same vein, while a sculptor molds and crafts with physical tools, I do so digitally.

The primary difference lies in the intangibility of digital art. Where traditional art is associated with sensory attributes, digital art excels when it comes to flexibility, adaptability, and a level of realism that is hard to obtain with traditional media. And digital art doesn’t smell or leave stains, nor does it require weeks to dry or have many of the other practical issues associated with traditional art.

Make no mistake, digital art demands no less talent, expertise, dedication, and effort than analog art. It's not superior or inferior - but distinct.

CAN DIGITAL ART BE UNIQUE?

With analogue art, each piece is physically identical to the artist's original creation. Digital art, on the other hand, can be endlessly reproduced, so how unique can digital artwork be?

The answer is: As unique as a painting.
Every custom artwork I create will only ever be available to the client who commissions it.
Consequently, only as many prints as requested by the client will ever exist.

Furthermore, I personally sign each custom artwork, offer a certificate of authenticity when desired, and, in the case of limited prints, ensure that only a finite number are available, each bearing my signature and/or a certificate of authenticity.
